Senior Software QA Engineer

SEPATON is seeking a Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer to assist in developing automated unit and system-level tests of functionality and performance for its existing and growing set of applications products built on its award-winning Virtual Tape Library (VTL) system.  Current applications include Site2 for remote replication for offsite vaulting, and DeltaStor, the highly powerful and innovative de-duplication product.

Responsibilities:

  • Will create and maintain automated test suites, including automating existing manual test cases
  • Designing and writing software functional tests for SEPATON's next generation of Virtual Tape Library products and/or application products.
  • Creating and maintaining system and component performance tests and conducting measurements, in addition to creating tools and infrastructure used for performance testing.
  • Work in a team taking direction from a team leader and may serve as a project leader as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of SQA experience; Minimum BSCS/CE/EE or computer related degree
  • Experience developing test automation scripts. Perl or Unix shell scripting experience is a must.
    SAN experience in a testing and/or lab environment
  • Experience with designing and implementing test harnesses and testing tools
  • Experience& writing and executing Test Plans
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and engineering skills
  • Familiarity with two or more of the following environments: Windows, Linux, AIX, Solaris, HP-UX

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Experience:

  • Backup applications experience (Veritas, Tivoli, Legato, etc.)
    Experience configuring hardware in a lab environment
  • Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange experience>
  • C++ coding experience

Senior QA Manager

SEPATON is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead a team of local and offshore test engineers in designing and running feature and system-level tests of functionality and performance for its existing and growing set of application products built on its award-winning Virtual Tape Library (VTL) system. Current applications include DeltaRemote for remote replication for offsite vaulting, and DeltaStor, the highly powerful and innovative de-duplication product.
 
Summary:
Coordinates, oversees and manages the QA efforts for the organization.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all daily QA activities and operations
  • Ensure that test processes are robust and meet corporate quality goals
  • May be directly involved in customer calls on an as needed basis
  • Plans, develops and establishes policies and objectives of QA in accordance with objectives of the organization
  • Lab equipment planning
  • Provide QA recommendations and insights that contribute to overall corporate direction
  • Collaboration with development in Agile process
  • Provide regular ongoing QA updates and presentations to engineering team as needed
  • Drive automation infrastructure development and test automation
Education and Eexperience:
Minimum of BSEE or BSCS or equivalent and 10 year’s relevant SQA experience with a minimum of 5 in a leadership/management role
 
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Experience:
  • SAN experience in a testing and/or lab environment
  • Experience writing Test Plans
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and engineering skills
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of all areas of software testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required
  • A clear understanding of the product development cycle, technical requirements and project management is required
